A mother of three, who took her children to Alaska without the prior consent of their father has been jailed for three-and-a-half years. The children aged four and five at the time, moved to Alaska in October 2015 with their mother and her partner.

Each parent was required to let the other know if they planned to take the children on holiday abroad and to give sufficient notice. This was not adhered to. Ms Ford pleaded guilty to two counts of child abduction at Isleworth Crown Court and was sentenced to three-and-a-half year’s imprisonment.
