The president of the Law Society of England and Wales has stated that the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012, has had a ‘devastating impact’ on access to justice.

The repercussions of the Act means that it is often the most vulnerable in society, who are unable to pay for legal services, who are effected the most.

Many have to navigate the legal process alone, without the help of a legal professional to help them present their case.
