The Pensions Advisory Service, speaking on Radio 4’s ‘Women’s Hour’ this morning outlined the importance of being aware of yours and your spouse’s pension in a divorce settlement. In England and Wales, if you are divorced or have dissolved your civil partnership then this may be included as a fair share of the assets to be divided.
According to the Pensions Advisory Service website:
‘Few people think of their pension when their relationship comes to an end. But, depending on the circumstances, understanding the effects could make a big difference to your pension provision.’
