The case of a part-time music teacher, employed by a school during term time, has been heard at the Court of Appeal.

Judges ruled in favour of the teacher after it was decided that the method of ‘pro-rating’ holiday pay (resulting in lower figures) was not provided for within the working time regulations.

The ruling could impact on the way that part-time worker’s holiday pay is calculated in future.
