A heterosexual couple have won their case to a Civil Partnership. Steinfield & Keidan wanted a legal union but the Civil Partnership Act 2004 only allowed singe-sex couple eligibility.
However a landmark ruling by the Supreme Court this morning has now meant that they have now won the right to a Heterosexual Civil Partnership. The judges declared that the 2004 Act was ‘incompatible’ with human rights.
