Hundreds of soldiers claiming compensation from the MoD for hearing loss or severe tinnitus

Figures released under the Freedom of Information Act have shown that compensation pay outs from the MoD, to soldiers and former military personnel, have quadrupled over the past few years. The claims surround hearing loss and severe tinnitus. It is thought that the compensation bill could be in excess of £100m. The average compensation was £14,500, but some High Courts awards have been around six figures.
