Research conducted on 3,400 pregnant women by the TUC, has found that one in four expectant mothers faced discrimination in the workplace during the Covid-19 lockdown. The women reported incidents where they were told to take their maternity leave early, forced to take sick leave when they were not ill and not being able to work because their workplace was unsafe for them.
